Two years old

My little boy turned two today.

Trevin, it's hard to believe that this was you, one year ago. You've changed so much!

This year has brought a lot of changes in your life. Crawling, walking, and talking. A new understanding of your world. Your personality has come out so much this year. I love you and I love who you are becoming. You are a sweet boy. So loving, so happy, so silly, so curious.

You became a big brother this year, too. You are a great big brother! You are gentle and loving. You love to help with baby Tyson by buckling him in his carseat, bringing him his binky when he cries, or hugging him when you have the chance. You have not been a jealous big brother, but there have been moments when you want some extra attention. At those times, you become a snuggle bug, which I LOVE. You climb up onto my lap and lay your head on my shoulder and let me just hold you. While you're over half my height at a whopping 38 inches, I still love to have you climb up on my lap like you're still my baby.

Your birthday this year was so much fun. You love trucks, so I made a dump truck cake for you. You instantly grabbed two of the OREO wheels off the cake and gobbled them up in no time flat. I think you've inherited my sweet tooth. Sorry! You loved all your new toys and ran around playing like a wild boy. Since you're usually more reserved, it was fun to see you get so excited.

At two years old, you are so smart. Daddy and I have loved being surprised by the things you know. You copy nearly everything we say. You follow directions. You even know part of the alphabet - the letters E, I, L, and O, and can "read" a couple of books...remembering what's on each page and trying to say the words. You also love to sing songs and you make surprising associations with songs. When you got a bible for Easter, we told you it was a bible and you started singing "Jesus Loves Me." If we are talking about farm animals, you start singing "Old MacDonald." "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is your favorite song and it is so sweet to hear you sing it. Aside the point a little, you are also a great dancer :).

We love you so much, Trevin and can't wait to see what the years ahead will bring. Happy birthday!
