"Not me!" almost Tuesday

Remember "Not me!" Mondays? I don't even know if they're still happening in blogland, but I'm going to try and get back to them. They're fun to look back on, fun to write, just...fun.

Here are a few things that have NOT happened in my life over the last few weeks, no matter what anyone might tell you.

I did not go to the dentist for the first time in a really long while, only to find that I had several cavities. After all, I brush at least twice a day, I floss every.single.day (I'm serious on that. Really.), and I use a fluoride mouthwash. Cavities, really? Who knew that your teeth can demineralize after having babies? (I guess I knew, but didn't really think it could be that bad!) I did not then have to go in for two separate appointments to get said cavities filled. And I did not have to pay for it all out of pocket.

I did not start running with the Couch to 5k program and by week 5, jump right in to four mile runs with my friend, Lisa. I wouldn't skip the last half of a program that I started. And I certainly wouldn't be able to run that far after only running for 5 minutes at a time.

My oldest son has not taken to sleeping (or NOT sleeping) in our bed every few nights. Trevin recently learned how to open the doors in our house by himself, but that has certainly not affected his sleep patterns in any way. He does not open his door in the middle of the night and stand at the gate crying. And Bryce and I are so disciplined and coherent at 3:00 in the morning that we definitely don't just grab him and put him in bed with us. And since our bed is big enough for the entire family and Trevin always goes right to sleep in our bed, we are not the slightest bit sleep-deprived.

At the doctor's office the other day, I had both boys with me. At the check-in desk, the receptionist did not tell me that my boys look exactly alike (after all, I've never heard that before). She did not follow that comment up with "And they must look just like their dad, because I don't really see any of you in them." After all, isn't that always what a mother wants to hear... especially a mother who labored to have those children?

We did not start our Netflix subscription up again, primarily to catch up on episodes of How I Met Your Mother. I did not forget how funny that show is and we don't watch at least one episode every night (sometimes before or after a movie that we also got off our queue).

I am not totally looking forward to our trip to Sunriver next week, but DREADING the packing. Packing for a family of four, including a baby is always a blast, isn't it?

And finally, I am not trying to get back to a good blogging schedule. Who has time for that, anyway?
