T and Ty Tuesday

Well, the boys have been busy playing with their oodles and oodles of new toys. It's been fun watching them enjoy their new things, funny too, though, as they both seem to be playing with the other one's toys. Trevin loves Tyson's big trucks and Tyson loves Trevin's small puzzle pieces and car tracks. It's not much of a problem as far as Tyson is concerned. Trevin can play with whatever he wants and it's no big deal. But when Tyson so much as looks at one of Trevin's toys, Trevin freaks out and yells "MY -insert favorite toy here- !" while swiping it out of Tyson's reach or even pushing Tyson away. Oh yikes, I probably should've been prepared for this before Christmas. Ideas on how to handle mean big brothers and sharing issues? I know you've been there.

Lately, Trevin is having a really hard time sleeping. He's skipping naps and taking a couple of hours to fall asleep at night. I know we are still trying to get back into a normal routine, but this is ridiculous. The boy is seriously SO TIRED. Hoping he gets back to a good schedule soon.

Tyson, on the other hand, is finally sleeping well at night! Thank goodness...it's taken us so long to get to this point! Bryce and I are definitely enjoying the extra sleep at night. Ty-guy is also turning one in less than a month. I can hardly believe it's already here. He's babbling a lot (which is SO CUTE) and he's eating big boy food, which he LOVES. He's almost standing by himself and I'm sure he'll be walking shortly after that.

So, I've got a question for all you moms with two kids of the same gender...what do you do for gifts for the younger one? The boys just got tons of toys for Christmas (many of them they share), so Tyson doesn't really need new ones. My thought was to do clothes or buy toys that we put away and take out at a later time. What do you do, though? Do both kids have their own toys? Do they just share everything? Ideas for gifts when their birthday is just a month after Christmas?

At 1 he's not really going to care what's in the wrapping so be practical. Maybe you could start him on a set of his own...are there any other build-able sets out there like Thomas the Train?
