| Trevin set up the chairs so both he and Tyson could look out the back door together. |
They make me laugh. Especially Trevin this morning.
At three years old, Trevin often has Bryce and I scratching our heads, completely perplexed as to what he's doing and why he's doing it. This morning was no exception.
As Bryce sat at our dining room table working on a puzzle, Trevin excitedly came over to "help" him. As he was giving Bryce pieces to the puzzle, the following conversation ensued...
Trevin (in an endearing tone): Daddy, you are SO fart.
Bryce: I am so "fart"?
T: Yes, you are SO fart.
B: Is mommy so fart?
T: No, that's mommy.
B: Oh...
Me: Trevin, what does that mean when you say daddy is so "fart"?
T: Hmm, he is just so fart.
Me: Oh, well does it mean he is being silly or stinky or...
T: Daddy is bery (very) happy.
Me: So "fart" means happy?
T: Yes.
Well, that was news to me. Apparantly I am not happy. Just a couple of weeks ago, we were on our way home from a birthday party. Trevin looked at me in the front seat and said (in an endearing tone) "Mommy, you are bery cute, not bery fart." I took it as a compliment at the time.
Now I'm just perplexed.
*****
Tyson's at that really fun stage now, where he's learning new words and picking up new skills from his brother. He and Trevin have been playing better lately and Tyson has generally been more pleasant than he was in the past. I have really loved this stage that he's in.
Here's a video of a few of the words he's saying (though many of them sound the same). I love hearing his little voice and seeing that big smile on his face!
