Eight years

Last night, Bryce and I had a long overdue night out. The boys stayed with grandma and grandpa and we headed downtown for a yummy italian dinner, followed by a dumb movie. We had a great time. So nice to get out with my hubby and celebrate eight years of marriage.

Our anniversary is today, July 4th. No, we are not super-patriotic...it just happened to be a Friday night and the only night the winery we wanted to get married at was available. And it was a perfect day.

And while our marriage hasn't always been perfect (who's is, anyway?), I know that I'm with the perfect guy for me. I'm thankful for the way he loves me, the way he balances out my quirks, the way he's strong and steady through all of life's "adventures." He's an amazing man.

I was looking for a pic from "way back when" to share with you. I found a few, one that was probably the first picture we ever took together, a couple of years before we started dating. I'm not showing you that one. You're never ever seeing it on this blog because it's really horrendous. At the time, we were RAs (resident assistants) in the same hall at school and our hall staff went out to dinner. I had the privilege of sitting next to this guy I barely knew, who may or may not have been in costume - "Billy Bob" teeth, spikey black wig, "guy"liner, and all. At the time, I NEVER dreamed that I'd one day claim him as my husband. I am one.lucky.lady.

Instead, here's a pic on my birthday, the big 2-1, right after we started dating.

And this is us now...one of the very few pics we take together anymore!

Happy Anniversary to two amazingly wonderful folks. Oh those Billy Bob's. I still have some in my "fun" drawer. Can't wait to show Cooper one of these days! Big hugs to you both!
