The rain

Every Sunday, Bryce plays ultimate frisbee at a local middle school. Lately, I've been trying to go with him and take Trevin for a walk around the walking "trail" at the school. Today was a rainy day and that didn't stop me! Bryce and his friend Dan were the only two to show up today, the only brave souls...so while they tossed the frisbee for awhile, I got to take Trevin for a run in the rain.

I love the rain! Call me crazy. I grew up in southern California in a hot, dry climate. Rain was a welcome change for us. Anytime it rained, I would go outside and just stand in the driveway and let the rain soak me. It was so refreshing.

After being in Washington for 9 years (wow, it's been that long!), I still haven't tired of the rain, not completely. Yes, in March, when it's still cloudy and drizzling, I have had enough, and I am not a fan of just drizzle and constant overcast, but rain...it's a different thing, and I love it! I love lying in bed at night and listening to the rain beat down. I love running in the rain, not thinking about my tired body, but about the rain beating on my face. I love cuddling up in my warm house, thankful to be dry, watching the rain pour down outside.

Thank you Lord, for the rain!

Oh, how I love the rain too! Not sure I'd love running in it... but then, I don't love running! But I do love the sound of it! Glad you got to have a good run in the rain with your sweet boy!

It was great to hang out with you guys the other night. I love your sweet boy!

I almost always think of you when it rains. We're rain kindreds for sure. I remember we always were so giddy when it rained here! Awww...

i so agree audrey. we have lots of church friends from the south that get a bit bogged down by the rain...and it always reminds me of just how much i love it. i've been sleeping with our bedroom window open just a little bit (brian thinks i'm so crazy...but i'm hot darn it!) and i love just listening to the rain. it's wonderful.

Oh Audrey! I use to think you were crazy for loving the rain! I remember visiting you down in So Cal when we were younger, and we would all be in the house playing and someone would notice it was raining and you and your sibs would all RUN outside, sooo excited, dancing in the rain! Us Hagen Girls from the rainy state would just look at each other with confused eyes thinking "what is wrong with them!" lol. Now...after living on the "sunny side" of Washington for only 7 months, I (can't believe I'm admitting this) sort of miss the rain! It's just so dry and dusty here...and the rain just cleans the air and everything around! I miss it! lol
Thanks for the memory...
