"Not Me!" Monday

Here it is again. My favorite post of the week. I get to be brutally honest (some weeks more brutal than others) and live to tell about it. Check out MckMama, where this all started. She's great!

First off, I did not have a RAVENOUS appetite this week and snack (for what felt like) all day, everyday. I did not use the excuse that eating something made me feel better (which really, it did...) so I wouldn't feel guilty about it. I don't have that kind of unhealthy relationship with food and I definitely have more self control than would be exhibited in an eating display like that.

On our date Friday night, I did not get frustrated with my husband and not speak to him as we walked from our car to the restaurant. We did not park several blocks away from the restaurant because he followed the wrong parking sign and did not want to turn around to try and find a closer parking structure. And if we had parked so far away, I would have been more than happy to take a nice stroll with him. I definitely would not ruin the beginning of date night like that...I am way more mature than that. I certainly didn't realize that once we got to the restaurant and change my foul mood, quick.

When I was out shopping and looking at bath salts and scrubs, I did not have a huge problem with the smell of lavender. I have always loved lavender and in no way does it now make me think of poop. There is NO WAY something that smells so nice would be associated with something so gross. The fact that the wipe solution I use for Trevin smells like lavender surely has nothing to do with it...

While I was on said shopping trip, I did not run into a teaching colleague whom I hadn't seen since last school year and immediately think fast about what I looked like. I was not relieved when I realized that I had put on jeans, make-up, and did my hair, thus looking presentable. I NEVER go to the grocery store in sweats or without make-up on, and even if I did, it would certainly be okay because my appearance is not what matters.

That's what I didn't do...what about you?

It's funny how people associate smells with certain things. I know tastes are another one that I can't get past. For instance when you get sick on a certain food that you've always liked, then feel nauseous upon smelling that particular food.

Great Not Me's Audrey! I too would never eat simply because it made me feel better. Nope. Sure wouldn't!

Lavendar! I can't tell you why, but it smells funky to me, too!

I can't stand lavender either. I don't like vanilla and hazlenut makes me want to throw up. Sorry for the TMI, just think it's funny how we react to certain scents!
